WISH provides support, encouragement, friendship, and a sense of community to Sacramento area home educators who are working with Waldorf methods and ideas. Members include those new to Waldorf ideas as well as ‘veterans.’ There are no specific religious affiliation requirements for our members; members choose their own spiritual paths and respect individual choice in this matter. However, WISH is a “values-based” group that draws interest from those seeking a wholistic environment for their children including healthy food choices and limited media exposure.

- Greetings! I live in Muncie, Indiana and have a son who will be five at the end of March 2006. I am very interested in Waldorf education, but we have nothing that I am aware of near us in central Indiana. So, I am seriously considering homeschooling my son at least through the early years of his education. I would love to be notified if there are classes or groups in my area--and I am quite willing to be involved in starting a Waldorf homeschooling group if there's interest! Please email or phone me if you have suggestions or are also interested! Cheers, Cindy Denny / 765.759.9929 / cgrendy (at) yahoocom

- Hi there. Looking to connect with other Waldorf homeschoolers in Washington state. I almost completed my Waldorf training in Ann Arbor, Michigan (just 1 summer short) and am a Lifeways trained caregiver. I have taught in Waldorf schools - Berkeley, Tucson, and Sedona. Now, I am a full time mother and homesteader. My husband Carl, 6 year old son Lucaas, and I live in Carlton, WA in the Methow Valley on the eastern slopes of the Cascades - about a 4 hour drive east of Seattle and a 3 hour drive northwest of Spokane. We are organic farmers living on 80 acres of communal land shared with 4 other families (we are the only ones with a child). I see there are no other families in the network near us, but we are willing to travel a little. We are also open to getting to know others, who would like to be open to being exposed to a rural lifestyle. My address is P.O. Box 101, Carlton, WA 98814. My number is 509-997-7337. Thanks,
Tania Gonzalez Ortega

We all participate in a great local non-sectarian homeschool group (SHINE) that does many Waldorf-friendly activities (lanternwalk, etc.). You can contact me at rrhyde (at) hotmailcom
