Home / Resources

Our aim in this Resources section is to provide information and help both for those new to Waldorf homeschooling and for old hands.

Networking and Community

There are a number of ways for you to meet other Waldorf-inspired homeschoolers. You can:

  • Get listed on our Networking page or see if there is a group or individual near you. These listings are international.

  • Join the Waldorf at Home online discussion forum. There is a small subscription fee to join this community. Here you can learn from other mothers, both experienced and new in Waldorf homeschooling, in a supportive and friendly environment. Our Christopherus consultants, Barbara, Lisa and Donna are all active moderators on this forum.

  • Or, if you prefer, join the Christopherus Users' Yahoo group, a free group where homeschoolers using our materials share ideas and inspiration.

  • Another place to meet mothers who stay at home (whether they homeschool or not) is via the Madonna Cloak Project. The Madonna Cloak Project is dedicated to supporting women who choose to stay at home with their children and all those who value this vital work.

Gallery of Homeschoolers' Work

When you're homeschooling and wondering what to expect from your child in terms of main lesson book content, it can be extremely helpful to see examples of work done by other children. In our Gallery of Homeschoolers' Work we have extensive examples - organized by grade - of main lesson work  done by children homeschooled using Waldorf. There are also photos of various projects, blackboard drawings by parents an examples of nature tables. Submissions are always welcome!

The Madonna Cloak Project

The Madonna Cloak Project section is a new initiative from Christopherus as a focal point for questioning the belief that the home is not the best place for young children. Explore questions about being a stay at home mum (SAHM). Eventually this project will have a separate identity (and website) from Christopherus.

Other Resources

What else have we got for you?

  • Extensive links to online resources: Waldorf homeschooling; toys, crafts and natural living; sources of Waldorf and anthroposophical books. (Don't miss our Suggested Reading page in the Learning More section.)

  • Talking of books, we created an Amazon store as a way of listing recommended titles in a range of categories.

  • A resource page especially for Australians.

  • The Homeschool Journey blog - regular articles from Donna on a range of topics (see the archive of Donna's articles for an index of blog posts by category).

  • A sign-up for the monthly Homeschool Journey newsletter: links to Donna's latest articles plus news from Christopherus about publications, conferences and so on.

  • Help in learning the songs from our Kindergarten and Joyful Movement books with audio and audio/visual files (plus Go Down Moses from our Old Testament Stories book!).

  • There's a bit of overlap between this Resources section and the Learning More section: don't miss the extensive articles on a wide range of Waldorf educational topics!

  • Similarly, don't miss our separate Early Years section with articles and sharings on being at home with young children.

  • Last - but definitely not least - do have a look at our Projects to Support. Here we highlight a number of inspiring initiatives arising out of Waldorf education and/or anthroposophy. So far, these include the bee sanctuary at the biodynamic Spikenard Farm in Illinois; an international school in Guatemala; a school in Sierra Leone which serves former child soldiers and other impoverished children; and the Nature Institute, dedicated to a holistic and phenomenological approach to science.
