This is a lovely, straight-forward and basic introduction to the Waldorf method of wet-on-wet watercolor painting. In the book you will find sections on the “moral effect of color”; color stories; instructions for painting; and guidance on how to paint with children from about 3 to 11 years of age.
My only gripe with this book is the cover (both the new and old versions): although I love the focused and serene expressions on the faces of the two small children pictured, they are sitting down whilst painting! I make quite a big deal about the need for young children especially to stand whilst painting so that their whole bodies are involved in what they are doing and so their arm and shoulder are free to move.
But….that is the only draw back. So if you can just remember to have your child stand while she paints, all will be well!
